Experience and public service

Before taking the bench, Allin spent eight years as an assistant criminal district attorney in Tarrant County, serving from 2017 to 2025, according to public election records. That stretch in the DA's office made up the bulk of her legal career after law school.

She started in law as a clerk. She worked in the Maryland Judiciary from 2015 to 2016 before moving to Texas and joining the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office, where she prosecuted criminal cases for nearly a decade.

Abbott appointed her to the 297th District Court bench in February 2025 to fill the vacancy left by Hagerman's retirement. Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells praised the appointment in the DA office's press release, calling Abbott's selection of Allin an outstanding choice and expressing confidence in her ability to serve as a judge. Sorrells said her experience and dedication would serve her well on the bench.

Allin has served as judge since February 2025.
