A 45,000-square-foot aviation parts warehouse is now operating on Grapevine's airport edge, giving U.S.-based airline clients faster access to replacement parts.

AvAir, an aftermarket aircraft parts supplier headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, opened the facility in June, according to a company news release and reporting by Community Impact. The Grapevine location is AvAir's third facility worldwide, joining its Arizona headquarters and an office in Dublin, Ireland.

The warehouse will serve AvAir's 3,100 clients in the U.S. and internationally, with a focus on speeding up delivery times. In the aviation industry, getting parts to airlines fast matters: when a plane is grounded waiting for a component, every hour costs money.

AvAir's press release cited DFW's status as one of North America's busiest cargo airports and the region's established aerospace presence as key reasons for choosing the location.

"Our new Dallas location complements our facilities in Chandler and Dublin, creating a strategically located hub that enhances inventory availability and streamlines distribution to customers worldwide," COO Tyler Botthof said in the June 8 news release. The company refers to the Grapevine site as its Dallas location.

Botthof was promoted to chief operating officer on Thursday, January 1, after starting his career in AvAir's warehouse more than 24 years ago.

Leadership on the ground

Brian Longmeyer, AvAir's vice president of sales for powerplants, will relocate to Dallas and take on the additional role of general manager overseeing all operations at the Grapevine site, according to the company. Longmeyer joined AvAir in 2021 and brings more than 30 years of industry experience.

The facility will house a dedicated sales and support team made up of existing employees and new hires, though the company has not disclosed how many positions the Grapevine location will add.
