A redesigned Burger King with digital ordering kiosks, expanded drive-thru lanes and a dedicated mobile pickup area is headed to 834 E. Northwest Highway in Grapevine, with a target opening in early 2027.
The 2,978-square-foot restaurant will use Burger King's "Sizzle" format, the chain's flagship remodel design that swaps the familiar brown-and-orange look for wood accents and bright colors, adding features like "the King Booth" and a "Home of the Whopper wall."
"This is all part of our larger Reclaim the Flame plan and goal to have most Burger King restaurants across the U.S. with a modern image by 2028," Burger King spokesperson Trae Martino said in an Aug. 16 email to Community Impact.
The Grapevine City Council and planning and zoning committee approved the project at a joint meeting on Aug. 19, 2025, on the second attempt. An initial plan was denied in April 2025 over concerns about a commercial building sitting too close to Wall Street.
The revised plan slots the restaurant between Chicken Express and German Car Care on E. Northwest Highway and rezones the southern portion of the lot from highway commercial to single-family, adding two 7,500-square-foot residential lots separated from the restaurant by a 146-foot wooden fence buffer.
Local franchisee behind the project
Behind the project is Dossani Paradise Investments, a Grapevine-based company led by Al Dossani that operates more than 30 Burger King or B-K Sizzle locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The group opened its first Burger King in 2014 and brought the first DFW Sizzle concept to McKinney in 2024.
The menu will mirror a standard Burger King. The difference is the experience: self-order kiosks, a streamlined digital flow and a layout that moves drive-thru and mobile-pickup customers faster.
The Sizzle prototype launched in October 2023 as part of Burger King's broader "Reclaim the Flame" turnaround. More than 35% of Burger King remodels in 2025 used the Sizzle image, and the company says the vast majority going forward will follow suit.
What's next
The exact opening date depends on construction progress, but early 2027 remains the target. The Grapevine location will be one of the first Sizzle ground-up builds in the area outside McKinney.
