Democrat Thomas J. Baker is running for Place 2 on the Texas 15th Court of Appeals in the Nov. 3, 2026 general election. The certified ballot lists Republican Scott Field as his opponent.
The statewide race includes voters in Southlake, Colleyville, Grapevine and Westlake.
Legal experience
According to his joint campaign website, Baker served in the U.S. Naval Reserve’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps, worked as an assistant county attorney and built a private law practice. He served as a justice on the Third Court of Appeals in Austin from 2019 through 2024.
Judicial approach
Baker’s campaign says party affiliation and political philosophy should not determine a court’s rulings. He emphasizes judicial accountability to voters and loyalty to the law.
