Douglas A. Allen, a Republican, is seeking another term as judge of Tarrant County Criminal District Court No. 3 in the Nov. 3, 2026, election. He is the only candidate listed for the office in the state’s ballot certification.
Legal experience
Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Allen in January 2023. At the time, Allen was an assistant U.S. attorney in the Northern District of Texas, where he had served for 20 years.

He began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in Tarrant County.
Allen earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Baylor University and a law degree from Texas Tech University, according to the announcement.
