Marshall Hobbs is running for Tarrant Appraisal District Board Place 2 in the Nov. 3, 2026, nonpartisan election. Ambika Sharma, Cary Cheshire and Paul Stockard are also listed for Place 2 on Tarrant County’s official candidate list.
Background and priorities
His campaign biography describes experience teaching government, service in the Army National Guard, and work as a regional trainer and auditor at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On his campaign platform, Hobbs calls for plain-language board agendas, timely publication of votes and minutes, improved information about appraisal protests and rigorous budget review. He supports independent audits and modern data systems.
Hobbs also supports state-level property-tax relief and moving toward a five-year appraisal cycle. These are his proposals and advocacy goals, rather than changes the board has enacted.
