Phyllis Grissom is running for Tarrant Appraisal District Board Place 1 in the Nov. 3, 2026, nonpartisan election. Tarrant County’s official candidate list also lists Byron Haynes, Rebecca Hardy and Sayeda Bilqees Syed for Place 1.
Background and public service
According to her biography published by the appraisal district, Grissom graduated from Eastern Hills High School and earned a journalism degree from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree in counseling from the University of North Texas.
She reports serving on Fort Worth’s Library Advisory Board from 2018 to 2024, as national president of Tri Delta from 2012 to 2016 and on Northwest ISD committees.
