Leigh Wambsganss is the Republican candidate for Texas Senate District 9 in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election. Democrat Taylor Rehmet is her opponent on the Texas secretary of state’s certified ballot.
Campaign priorities
On her campaign website, Wambsganss says she would work to lower property taxes and insurance premiums and support career training and apprenticeships.
In published campaign statements, she also calls for ending special tax incentives for data centers, requiring them to pay for their water and electricity use, and giving communities a voice in their proximity to homes and schools. These are her campaign proposals.
