Experience and education

Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Hill to the court in March 2022. At the time, Hill was chief prosecutor of Criminal Mental Health Crossover in the Tarrant County district attorney’s office. He previously worked as a Johnson County assistant district attorney and Hood County assistant county attorney.

The governor’s announcement identifies Hill as board certified in criminal law, with a bachelor’s degree in music education from Baylor University and a law degree from St. Mary’s University.

On his campaign website, Hill describes his approach as running an efficient, fair court and following the law as written.
