Brook Bell leads uncontested Tarrant County Probate Court 2 race

Brook Bell, a Republican, holds 292,799 votes and 100% of the count in the race for Tarrant County Probate Court-at-Law Judge, Court 2, according to unofficial results from Tarrant County Elections. No other candidate appeared on the ballot. Zero of 864 reporting units had reported as of 7:06 p.m. CST on Nov. 3.

Bell also ran uncontested in the March 3 Republican primary, where she received 112,822 votes, according to Ballotpedia.

Tarrant County Probate Court No. 2 handles probate, guardianship and mental-health cases at the Tarrant County Courthouse in Fort Worth, according to county records. The court's decisions affect families across northeast Tarrant County dealing with estates, wills and guardianship matters.

A little history

Bell is listed as the sitting judge of Probate Court No. 2 on the Tarrant County elected officials page. According to her CV, she earned a bachelor's degree from Baylor University in 2003 and a law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2016. She clerked for Judge Pat Ferchill at Probate Court No. 2 from January to November 2016, then served as Public Probate Administrator for Tarrant County Probate Courts from November 2016 to October 2018.

She worked as an associate attorney at Harris, Finley & Bogle from October 2018 to February 2020, then opened The Bell Firm, PLLC. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University School of Law since January 2017.

What's next

The results remain unofficial until the canvass is complete. According to the Texas Secretary of State's Election Advisory No. 2026-28, the local canvass for county races must occur no earlier than Nov. 6 and no later than Nov. 17. Late-arriving domestic, overseas and military ballots may be received through Nov. 9.

The early voting ballot board must count all provisional ballots, late-arriving ballots and corrected carrier-envelope ballots before the canvass can take place.
