The Crème School of Colleyville, an early-childhood enrichment center at 6805 Colleyville Blvd., permanently closed Friday, May 22, after years of declining enrollment, leaving families of infants through elementary-age children searching for new care.
The school served children as young as six weeks through age 6 with classes in STEAM, art, music and Spanish, and offered before-and after-school care for kids ages 5 to 12, according to Community Impact.
A Crème spokesperson said enrollment had declined over several years, leading to the permanent closure. No reopening is planned.
The national chain Crème de la Crème, Inc., founded in 1982, operates locations across more than a dozen states. Neither the company nor the Community Impact report specified how many families or children were enrolled when the Colleyville doors closed.
Where affected families can go
The Crème spokesperson said families were offered two transition paths: The Crème School of Coppell or a nearby KinderCare Learning Center.
The Crème School of Coppell, located at 300 South Denton Tap Road, Coppell, TX 75019, serves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years and offers enrichment rotations in STEM, Spanish, music and art.
The Coppell location is enrolling for fall and is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Families can call 972-462-9064.
The nearest confirmed KinderCare to the Colleyville area is the Southlake-Grapevine KinderCare at 3115 E. Southlake Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092. It accepts children ages 6 weeks to 5 years and operates Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Phone: (817) 481-3122. The Crème spokesperson did not name a specific KinderCare location in the referral.
The closure fits a broader pattern of enrollment declines hitting both private and public early-childhood programs in northeast Tarrant County. Carroll ISD and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD have also closed campuses in recent years as student counts dropped.
