Hotel Vin in Grapevine has scheduled six events in October, headlined by a Halloween pop-up and a five-course wine dinner judged by the crowd.

The boutique Marriott Autograph Collection hotel at 815 S. Main St. anchors its lineup with Nightmare on Main Street, a Halloween takeover of Harvest Hall and Third Rail running Oct. 1–31.

The pop-up features themed cocktails, decorated spaces and live entertainment including "Ghouling" Dueling Pianos and Dreams Unwind, a Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks tribute, Southlake Style reported.

The Third Annual Somm Smackdown falls Friday, Oct. 30. Reigning champion Master Sommelier Jack Mason faces challenger Master Sommelier Julie Dalton in a five-course wine-pairing dinner, according to Hotel Vin's event page.

Guests taste both sommeliers' pairings for each course and vote on who wins.

Mason earned his Master Sommelier credential at 27 and is one of only 12 Master Sommeliers in Texas, according to the Court of Master Sommeliers Americas. The competition grew from a single Hotel Vin dinner three years ago into a four-hotel tournament bracket spanning four states, as Yahoo Lifestyle reported. October is Texas Wine Month.

"Two Master Sommeliers put their reputations on the line, the guests taste both [pairings], and the guests decide who's right," Tom Santora, chief commercial officer at Coury Hospitality, told Yahoo Lifestyle in September.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception and passed hors d'oeuvres. The competition starts at 7 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. Tickets are listed at $146 on Southlake Style, though the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau lists $125. Prospective guests should confirm pricing at hotelvin.com.

Five free Rioja After Dark rooftop nights round out the month. Live DJ sets, craft cocktails and views of Historic Grapevine run 9 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 16, 23, 24, 30 and 31.

Admission is free.

Hotel Vin has also added two wellness mornings. Vinyasa at Vin, a yoga session led by Inspire Yoga, takes place Sunday, Oct. 4, from 9 to 10 a.m. at WineYard Grille + Bar.

Tickets are $30 and include a complimentary Superfood Cocktail infused with Hendrick's Gin and 20% off brunch at Bacchus Kitchen + Bar. A barre class hosted by The Bar Method Southlake follows Sunday, Oct. 18, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the same venue for $33, with the same cocktail and brunch deal.
