Maman, the New York-born French bakery behind a cookie that landed on Oprah's Favorite Things, will open its first Tarrant County location at Park Village in Southlake.

The café is taking over a roughly 2,500-square-foot space at 1161 E. Southlake Blvd., according to Southlake Style. Public filings show construction is expected to begin Oct. 7, with completion targeted for late January 2027 and an opening anticipated shortly after.

Co-founders Elisa Marshall and Ben Sormonte started Maman in 2014 out of New York's SoHo neighborhood. The brand now operates more than 20 shops in New York City, over a dozen each in Washington, D.C., and southern Florida, and two in Canada, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Maman made its Texas debut in Dallas's University Park neighborhood in late November 2025. The company had two DFW shops open as of mid-2026, with eight more planned across North Texas within a few years.

"The next major market is Dallas," Marshall told the Dallas Morning News in April 2026, discussing the brand's expansion strategy.

The Southlake menu will include all-day brunch, pastries, sandwiches and specialty coffee.

Its signature item is the Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookie, which earned a spot on Oprah's Favorite Things. Maman uses a commissary kitchen model, preparing cookie dough and croissants at an off-site facility and delivering them to each shop daily.

Maman locations feature blue-and-white toile, vintage furnishings and French provincial décor, according to the company.

No grand opening date has been announced.
