Nearly 94,700 donors gave more than $76 million to over 3,300 nonprofits during the 18th annual North Texas Giving Day on Thursday, Sept. 17.

The one-day online campaign, organized by Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT), surpassed the midnight total from the 2025 event, according to Southlake Style. Since its 2009 launch, North Texas Giving Day has generated more than $788 million for regional nonprofits. Area organizations in Colleyville, Grapevine and Southlake have long used the platform to connect with donors across the region.

The campaign ran for 18 hours. Donors directed contributions across 25 cause areas, including education, health, social services, the arts, environmental causes and animal welfare. CFT covers all transaction and technology fees, so 100% of each donation goes directly to participating nonprofits.

Wayne White, president and CEO of Communities Foundation of Texas, praised the region's donor turnout. "North Texans show up," White told D Magazine on Sept. 15, ahead of the event.

White said the 2025 event saw a significant rise in donations for food access and housing, which he attributed to the broader economic environment and federal funding cuts. Bringing in new donors remains a key challenge for many nonprofits, he said, and the relationships built through the campaign carry value year-round.

CFT introduced new tools for the 2026 event, including an AI-powered online quiz to help donors match with causes and partnerships with social media influencers. About 300 nonprofit representatives attended a full-day training through CFT's Nonprofit Success Series ahead of the campaign.

The Colleyville Public Library Foundation has participated in North Texas Giving Day in past years, raising over $600,000 for the Colleyville Public Library as of 2018.

Donations can continue year-round through NorthTexasGivingDay.org. The next North Texas Giving Day is set for Thursday, Sept. 16, 2027.

Residents looking for another way to support local causes can attend the inaugural Concert on Lake Grapevine on Sunday, Oct. 11, at Mariner Park Point, 1 Sunfish Drive, Grapevine. The outdoor event, organized by The Charity Grapevine Incorporated and presented by Tolbert's Restaurant & Chili Parlor, runs noon to 9 p.m. Tickets are $35, with proceeds benefiting GRACE Food Bank of Grapevine and The Miracle League of Southlake.
