Southlake photographer Ximena Peryea is one of nine Tarrant County artists selected for the 2026 Texas Vignette Art Fair in Dallas.
The all-women fair, now in its eighth year, will showcase 100 works by 60 Texas artists at On The Levee, 1108 Quaker St. in the Dallas Design District.
Peryea is the only artist from the northeast Tarrant County area among the nine county selections, the Fort Worth Report reported Aug. 30.
The public can attend free on Friday, Oct. 2, from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A ticketed preview benefit opens the fair Thursday, Oct. 1.
Alison de Lima Greene, curator of modern and contemporary art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, selected this year's artists from a record 233 submissions received through a May open call, according to Glasstire. Greene has held the curatorial post since 1984.
Peryea, whose 2025 Texas Vignette profile listed digital photography as her medium, also appeared in last year's fair. She is part of The Big Picture, a juried photography exhibition by the Texas Photographic Society at the Arlington Museum of Art that opened Aug. 7.
The other Tarrant County artists selected are Alexis Andrade of Fort Worth, Janet Chaffee of Arlington, Sadie Harrison-Fincher of Fort Worth, Casey Leone of Fort Worth, Ebony Lewis of Grand Prairie, Martha Peters of Fort Worth, Ivette Ramos Levy of Fort Worth and Becky Wilkes of Azle.
Dallas curator Jessica Ingle founded Texas Vignette in 2017 to give women artists direct access to collectors. Artists keep 100% of sales proceeds.
"We've watched artists who first participated as emerging voices go on to have exhibitions, enter important collections, and build sustainable careers, which has been incredibly rewarding," Ingle told the Fort Worth Report.
Fort Worth printmaker Casey Leone, 34, who has been featured in the fair twice before, said the event brings together people she would not have met otherwise. First-time participant Alexis Andrade, 35, a Fort Worth sculptor, said she hopes to learn more about the collector world through the fair.
