Colleyville residents can securely destroy old bank statements, tax records and other sensitive paperwork for free Saturday, Aug. 22, when the city and Community Waste Disposal park a shred truck in the South Parking Lot at City Hall, 100 Main St.
The service runs from 7 to 10 a.m. or until the truck is full, whichever comes first. The city urged residents to arrive early in an Aug. 11 Instagram post outlining the rules.
Each household may bring up to three regular trash bags of residential documents. Proof of Colleyville residency is required at the drop-off point.
Metal slows the line. Residents should remove all paperclips, binder clips, metal-clasped folders and binders before arriving. The city said in its Aug. 11 post that pulling out metal ahead of time allows crews to serve as many households as possible.
