Colleyville residents can grab a cup of coffee with the officers who patrol their streets on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Black Rifle Coffee Co.

The Colleyville Police Department announced it will host a National Coffee with a Cop Day event from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the shop, located at 5695 Colleyville Blvd. The department said residents can meet officers, ask questions and have a conversation over coffee. The announcement does not mention a cost or registration requirement.

The Oct. 7 gathering is part of a national program launched in 2011 that now holds events in all 50 states on the first Wednesday of October. The format skips speeches and set agendas.

The department encouraged residents to come with questions and a thirst for coffee.
