Dove Creek Day Camp, the Grapevine Parks and Recreation summer program for kids ages 5 to 12, is still accepting registrations for sessions running through Friday, August 7, at the Meadowmere Adventure Center on Grapevine Lake.

The camp operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Meadowmere Park, 3000 Meadowmere Lane, Grapevine. Up to 100 children can attend each week. Families can register at GoGrapevine.com/DoveCreek.

What campers do

Activities include water sports on Grapevine Lake, archery, and gaga ball. Full-week campers also get a session on WhoaZone, the floating aqua park obstacle course at Meadowmere Park, according to the city's GoGrapevine website.

When temperatures spike, staff move archery and other activities inside the 8,000-square-foot Meadowmere Adventure Center, a climate-controlled building with eight glass doors that open onto the lake. Water-based activities shift to shaded areas or indoors during extreme heat, per the camp's FAQ page.

The facility

The Meadowmere Adventure Center opened in May 2025. Morgan Denny, Grapevine's Lake Parks Manager, and Summer Programs Coordinator Katelyn Ashley told the city's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board at its Thursday, September 18, 2025, meeting that the camp served 914 participants across 10 weeks in its first full summer, double the capacity before the building existed.

The center sits inside Meadowmere Park's 288 acres of lakefront on Grapevine Lake, which also includes a sandy beach and kayak and paddleboard rentals.

Safety and staffing

All Dove Creek counselors complete a two-week staff training before camp begins. The program follows the City of Grapevine Youth Standard of Care, which City Council reviews and approves annually, according to the GoGrapevine FAQ.

Registration is open at GoGrapevine.com/DoveCreek. Drop-off and pick-up is at Meadowmere Park, 3000 Meadowmere Lane, Grapevine. Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the final session ending Friday, August 7.
