Southlake Pickleball Complex players can book lessons with Robert Bujak, a certified IPTPA pickleball coach who grew up in Poland playing six different sports.
Bujak offers beginner-friendly clinics, intermediate and advanced skill-building drill sessions, and one-on-one private lessons at the complex, according to the facility's website. Before picking up pickleball, he played soccer, basketball, tennis, table tennis, badminton and volleyball at various levels.
The facility lists introduction-to-pickleball classes, group instruction, organized weekly open play sorted by skill level, and local and regional league opportunities among its programming. Bujak's coaching draws on his background across multiple sports, the facility said, and he works with players from beginners through advanced competitors.
The complex features eight permanent courts with in-ground nets and a championship court with a stadium viewing area. Court reservations and payment are required before members step on a court.
A pro shop sells equipment, accessories, snacks and beverages. Players can also rent a ball machine. The facility has restrooms, an ice and water machine, shaded spectator seating and a facility-wide sound system. Courts use a VAPTR water-removal system.
The facility is open daily. Free play runs from 5 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for members and non-members. Regular hours run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., though seasonal hours may apply. The complex closes on Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
An active membership is required for on-court activities during regular hours. Non-members can purchase a $10 day pass for open play or to join a member's court reservation. All players must check in at the pro shop.
That's the rule for everyone.
The Southlake Parks Development Corporation (SPDC) funded construction through its Capital Improvements Program as part of the Southlake 2035 Parks, Recreation & Open Space Master Plan, which the Southlake City Council adopted in June 2021. Membership and reservation details are available on the facility's website.
