A live game-show venue where groups compete on camera opens Saturday, Sept. 12, inside Red Door Escape Room at 280 Commerce St. in Southlake.
Game Show Studio puts teams of eight to more than 20 through 60 minutes of buzzers, trivia and physical challenges on a Hollywood-style set. A 10-foot LED screen and professional audio-visual production back up the action while hosts run the show and players become the contestants.
The experience lasts 60 minutes.
The studio features more than 13 rotating games, according to a company press release. The Southlake location is the sixth Game Show Studio to open inside a Red Door Escape Room venue. Red Door, a DFW-based company with more than 20 locations nationwide, started in Southlake more than a decade ago.
Nick Madden, Red Door Escape Room's CEO, said the company has built a partnership with Game Show Studio over the past few years. "Our Southlake location has a special place in our hearts since it is where we started out, and we're excited to bring a new fun-filled experience that we know the community will love," Madden said in the release.
The studio is pitching itself as a destination for corporate team-building, holiday parties, birthday celebrations and family outings. Customizable group packages include event theming, catering coordination and gifting support. Game Show Studio is also expanding nationwide through franchising, the press release said.
Grand opening weekend runs Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. Visitors can tour the space, try mini-games, enter giveaways and buy opening-weekend tickets for $25, according to Southlake Style. Standard ticket prices for the Southlake location have not been announced.
Game Show Studio Southlake is at 280 Commerce St., Suite 285. Regular hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8:50 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 9:45 a.m. to 10:35 p.m. Bookings are available at gameshowstudio.com/southlake or by calling 817-328-5199.
