Grapevine schools, businesses and nonprofits can apply for up to $5,000 to fund local environmental and beautification projects through the Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant program.

Applications are open now and close Tuesday, Oct. 6. Interested groups can apply at the program's application page.

The grant funds projects focused on litter prevention, waste reduction and beautification, according to the program listing.

Past recipients have used the money for water bottle filling stations, trash carts and landscape improvements. Pollinator gardens, rain barrels and recycling drives also qualify.

Keep Grapevine Beautiful, a Grapevine city program focused on environmental stewardship, launched the Gives Grant in 2018. Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru-Grapevine sponsors the program.
