Southlake's Champions Club is giving members a reason to show up every day this month: a physical prize wheel at the Fitness Desk that turns a daily workout into a shot at winning Beats headphones.
The Wheel of Fitness August Challenge, which launched Saturday, August 1, works like this: members check in, spin the wheel, and complete whatever fitness task it lands on. Each completed task earns at least one raffle ticket. Harder tasks earn more tickets, easier ones earn fewer, and some spaces hand out free tickets with no exercise required.
Members get one spin per check-in per day, meaning someone who visits all 31 days in August collects 31 or more tickets. At the end of the month, staff will draw one winner from the full ticket pool.
The challenge is open to any Champions Club member regardless of age. Kids, teens, and adults all spin the same wheel.
The specific tasks on the wheel haven't been published, but Southlake Parks and Recreation described the difficulty range as spanning from simple moves that earn a single ticket to tougher challenges worth multiple entries.
Champions Club at The Marq Southlake is the city-operated fitness and aquatics facility at 285 Shady Oaks Drive. The facility held an open house Saturday, July 25, where non-members could visit free of charge and enjoy a live DJ, photo booth, and family activities.
Members planning their August visits should note two maintenance closures: the Courts close Tuesday, August 18, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (no Open Play Pickleball), and the Courts, Studios, Track, and Fieldhouse close Friday, August 21, through Sunday, August 23. The Outdoor Turf remains accessible via the Outdoor Terrace during the longer closure.
