Colleyville's annual Boot Scootin' Saturday Night returns Sept. 26 with a live concert, a mechanical bull and food trucks at the city's new Heroes Park.
The event is free.
It runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at Heroes Park at City Hall. Dance instructor Blake Elder opens the evening with a country-western two-step lesson from 6 to 7 p.m. No registration is required for the class, the city confirmed on its Facebook page.
Texas band Big City Outlaws takes the stage at 7 p.m. and plays through 10 p.m. Lawn games and a mechanical bull round out the lineup for anyone who skips the dance floor.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from local food trucks. The city has not announced which vendors will be on site.
The event marks one of the first large gatherings at Heroes Park, which opened June 26 as part of Colleyville's Stars and Guitars Independence Day celebration. The park features a two-sided stage built for community events.
Mayor Bobby Lindamood told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in June that the park was built for nights like this. "It's got a two-sided stage on it … it's the perfect park, really and truly," he said.
The City of Colleyville posted on Instagram on Aug. 13 that Boot Scootin' Saturday Night is moving to Heroes Park with expanded hours. The city called the event bigger and better than previous years.
Residents looking to brush up before Sept. 26 can sign up for free line dancing classes with instructor Suzy Ashmore on Thursdays in September from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Colleyville Recreation Center. Those classes require registration and space is limited.
