Grapevine residents can learn to build a personal AI writing assistant at a free hands-on workshop Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Grapevine Public Library.
The one-hour session, titled "Make AI Write Like You: Emails, Proposals, & Follow-ups," runs from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Library Program Room at 1201 Municipal Way, Grapevine, TX 76051. Mitch Arnold, a Grapevine-based AI consultant and Air Force veteran, will lead the class.
No prior AI experience is required.
Arnold plans to build a custom AI writing tool live on screen rather than use slides.
The goal is for each participant to walk away with a working assistant that can draft emails, proposals and follow-ups in the user's own voice and style.
The session uses Claude and ChatGPT, two free AI chatbot platforms that can generate and edit text based on written instructions. Attendees who want to build along during the workshop should bring a laptop with a free account on either platform already set up before arriving. Those who prefer to watch can follow the live demonstration and repeat the steps on their own later.
Arnold's company, Arnold AI Group, organized the workshop in partnership with the library. The Eventbrite page for the event states that nothing is being sold during the session and that the library reviews the material in advance.
Parking is free in the library lot. Tickets were still available on Eventbrite as of Sunday, Sept. 13, with registration open through the start of the session.
The Sept. 15 AI workshop is a separate event from the library's free virtual author talk with Veronica Roth scheduled the same day.
