Grapevine Police Department booked 54 people on charges ranging from felony DWI to public intoxication during a 10-day stretch that included the July Fourth holiday weekend.

The bookings spanned June 27 through July 6, and were dominated by alcohol-related offenses, according to arrest records published July 15 by LocalNewsOnly crime reporter Linda Baker.

The department recorded 13 DWI-related arrests and 15 public intoxication arrests during the period, per records obtained through public information requests.

Felony DWI and child passengers

The most serious impaired-driving charge went to a 58-year-old Grapevine woman arrested Saturday, June 27, on a count of driving while intoxicated, third or subsequent offense. Under Texas law, a third DWI is a third-degree felony carrying two to 10 years in prison.

Three other suspects were charged with DWI at a blood alcohol content of 0.15 or higher, almost double the legal limit of 0.08.

Those arrests occurred on consecutive days: Saturday, June 27; Sunday, June 28; and Monday, June 29.

Two men were charged Saturday, July 4, with DWI with a child passenger under 15. One of those suspects, a 30-year-old Dallas man, also faced charges of possession of a controlled substance (one to four grams, penalty group 1) and abandoning or endangering a child.

Assault and other violent charges

Officers made four assault-related arrests during the period. A 39-year-old Keller man was charged Saturday, July 4, with assault of a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation.

A 42-year-old Odessa man faced two counts of assault causing bodily injury against a family member on Friday, July 3.

A 61-year-old Grapevine woman was arrested Monday, July 6, on a charge of terroristic threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury.

Park curfew enforcement

Ten people were charged with both public intoxication and violating curfew in city parks, with most of those arrests concentrated on the weekend of June 27–28. Among them was a 46-year-old Colleyville man arrested Monday, June 29.

Outstanding warrants from across the region

Multiple suspects carried outstanding warrants from other agencies, including Euless, Grand Prairie, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Haltom City, Denton County, Lewisville, Highland Park, Collin County, Midlothian, and DeSoto.

One Grand Prairie woman arrested for DWI on June 27 also had six warrants from three jurisdictions covering offenses from speeding to driving with a suspended license.

A Fort Worth man was picked up June 28 on a warrant for felony theft between $30,000 and $150,000.

A Douglasville, Georgia, man arrested Friday, July 3, faced five charges including tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, theft between $2,500 and $30,000, and an outstanding Collin County warrant for financial abuse of an elderly individual.

All charges listed are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Grapevine Police Department did not provide additional comment on the arrest log.
