A hybrid art gallery, wine tasting room and event venue called Housewife Rebellion is heading to Grapevine, filling a historic Victorian house that has sat empty since 2020.

Founder Nicole Heere, a professional artist since 2011, plans to open the business this fall in the 1888 building that previously housed Homestead Winery. The pink house sits directly across from Esparza's restaurant, steps from Historic Main Street.

The concept blends Heere's original artwork with a wine tasting room serving wines, charcuterie and a signature glitter pink lemonade, Community Impact reported Thursday, July 30.

The space will also include a rentable event room called the Rebel Room and plans to host watch parties for Bravo's "Real Housewives." Hours will initially run Thursday through Sunday, Heere told Community Impact.

Once open, Housewife Rebellion will join Grapevine's Urban Wine Trail, adding another stop to the downtown tourism corridor.

Renovations and timeline

Renovations on the 1888 house are still underway, including repairs for fire damage. No confirmed opening date has been announced, though social media posts point to fall 2026 as the target.

Before landing on the Worth Street location, Heere explored two sites in McKinney. The first fell through over city code renovation requirements; the second because the sale collapsed. She called the Grapevine decision a "no-brainer," according to Community Impact's September 2025 report.

From canvas to cork

Heere holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UTSA and has been a professional artist since 2011. In 2014, she began painting what she calls "housewife paintings," depicting 1950s-era women in acts of domestic rebellion.

The wine brand grew out of a 2022 Saatchi Art Fair appearance in Dallas, where Heere displayed mock wine labels on bottles as art props.

She couldn't legally sell the wine. Visitors kept trying to buy them anyway. After the fair, actress Lynda Carter shared Heere's work across social media, and the concept went viral.

Heere officially launched the Housewife Rebellion wine label in April 2024, partnering with winemakers in the Texas Hill Country and Texas High Plains.

At GrapeFest 2024, the brand's first competition, its Pinot Grigio and Rebel Rosé each took third place. At the 39th Annual GrapeFest in September 2025, both wines took first place.

"When we get in a wine festival, we blow it out of the park," Heere told Community Impact in September 2025.

Heere's artwork has been featured in Vogue Paris and includes international collaborations with a theatre in Poland and a wine label in the Netherlands. Residents can follow the business's progress toward its fall opening on its website and social media channels.
