Southlake shoppers who expected Hudson House to open at Park Village by summer 2026 will wait until at least late September.

The East Coast-inspired oyster bar and seafood restaurant from Dallas-based Vandelay Hospitality Group is under construction at 1131 E. Southlake Blvd., but the timeline has slipped.

The opening had originally been targeted for summer 2026. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported on July 28 that the date has been pushed back to at least early fall. Southlake Style put the window at late September or early October in a June update.

Southlake Mayor Shawn McCaskill confirmed in a Facebook post that the former RA Sushi space was completely gutted to prepare for the build-out, according to the Star-Telegram.

RA Sushi closed in May 2025 after nearly a decade at the address.

Hudson House will be the 11th DFW-area location for the brand, which Vandelay Hospitality Group founder and CEO Hunter Pond launched in 2017.

When the Southlake spot was first announced in an October 2025 news release, Pond said, "Southlake has been on our radar for years — it's a tight-knit community that values great hospitality and consistency."

The 5,000-square-foot restaurant sits directly across from Gloria's Latin Cuisine in Park Village, the 185,493-square-foot open-air lifestyle center that Houston-based Fifth Corner acquired on January 30, 2024.

The restaurant is known for raw oysters flown in daily, a signature "World's Coldest Martini" shaken and served in a frozen glass, and a menu spanning lobster rolls on brioche, fish tacos with blackened redfish, a double-thin-patty cheeseburger, and key lime pie.

Martinis are half-price weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m. during happy hour.

Design plans call for warm leather booths, a large wraparound bar, an outdoor patio adjacent to the Park Village playspace above the fountain, and a full sit-down raw bar, according to Southlake Style.

No confirmed opening date has been announced. Late September or early October 2026 remains the most specific public timeline.
