Kubota is building a $10 million training facility at its Grapevine campus on Kubota Drive.
The project, filed by Kubota USA Inc. with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) on Oct. 15, calls for a new one-story, 28,824-square-foot building with administrative offices, catering and training rooms, according to state records.
Construction is set to begin Jan. 4, 2027, with a target completion date of July 31, 2028.
The Fort Worth Report first reported the expansion Oct. 25.
The project is privately funded on private land, according to the TDLR filing. Dallas-based Stantec Architecture Inc. is the design firm.
The filing lists Stacy Schroeder as the owner contact for Kubota USA Inc., which has a registered address in Torrance, California. Kubota North America Corporation, the company's central U.S. and Canadian business hub, is headquartered at 1000 Kubota Drive in Grapevine, according to a company press release from April.
The TDLR filing's status is listed as "review complete."
The Grapevine expansion comes as Kubota invests across its North American operations.
In April, the company broke ground on a separate $30 million, 57,000-square-foot construction equipment test center in Salina, Kansas.
Todd Stucke, president of Kubota North America, said in a statement at the time that "Kansas has been a strong partner, and the Salina facility will play a critical role as we continue to expand our construction equipment portfolio and support customers across North America."
Grapevine Economic Development has credited the ICSC Las Vegas trade show with helping recruit Kubota's headquarters to the city, calling it the result of "a years-long recruitment effort," according to the agency's website.
Grapevine city records show a conditional use case, CU26-27, was prepared for the Kubota Training Facility at 1000 Kubota Drive. A city map dated Oct. 2 places the property in the Business Park District.
Whether the conditional use permit has been approved or is still pending before the Planning and Zoning Commission is not clear from available records.
