Noti Krasniqi is opening Little Dutch, a contemporary Italian restaurant, at 1285 S. Main St. in Grapevine on Monday, Oct. 26.
The restaurant takes over the former Fireside Pies space, which closed Aug. 31, 2024.
Krasniqi received a conditional-use permit from Grapevine City Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission at a joint meeting on June 17, 2025, Community Impact first reported.
The permit application included enclosing a 944-square-foot patio. The restaurant will seat 186 people inside and outside, according to city documents cited by Community Impact.
Little Dutch will serve Italian food along with dishes from other regions, according to a city of Grapevine announcement published Oct. 23.
The restaurant's website lists contemporary Italian for lunch and dinner, with a wine list and craft cocktails.
Inside, a glass atrium with crystal chandeliers and a green glass bar anchor the dining room.
Krasniqi also owns Mio Nonno Trattoria, an Italian restaurant with locations in Flower Mound, Allen and the Victory Park area in Dallas. Chef Ati Mala, who crafted the menu at Mio Nonno, co-owned a Mediterranean restaurant called Andrra in the Hamptons with Krasniqi before the pair moved to Texas, according to the Mio Nonno website. Mio Nonno's menu draws on central and southern Italian cuisine, Community Impact reported.
The restaurant's name has a personal backstory. Krasniqi grew up in Kosovo, then part of Yugoslavia. He played soccer as a child and got bullied practicing the sport, he told the Planning & Zoning Commission in June 2025. His mother's advice: grab a rock and throw it at the bullies.
Around that time, President Ronald Reagan ordered Operation El Dorado Canyon on April 15, 1986. Krasniqi said the connection between Reagan dropping bombs and him throwing rocks earned him the nickname "Reagan" from friends. Reagan's own father had nicknamed him "Dutch," and that link inspired the restaurant's name.
The project was originally called The Dutch when Krasniqi applied for the permit in 2025. The city's Oct. 23 announcement uses the name Little Dutch. No explanation for the change appears in public records.
In Community Impact's June 2025 coverage, Krasniqi described the concept: "It will be a warm, stylish place for families, friends and visitors we have here in Grapevine."
Reservations are available through the restaurant's website.
