A 36-unit luxury garage-condo community is under construction on Davis Boulevard in Southlake, with developer Gary Shimmin targeting a late 2026 opening for what he calls a fully customizable space for car enthusiasts and collectors.
WorldClass Garages, at 890 Davis Blvd, will deliver two buildings in its first phase: one with 16 units and another with 20, according to Shimmin, a Keller-area real estate developer who has been working on the project since 2022. Units are for purchase, not rent, and range from single garages measuring 25 by 45 feet with a mezzanine to doubles at 50 by 45 feet with a larger upper level. Purchase prices were not publicly listed as of mid-July 2026.
The Southlake City Council first approved the project in 2019, but the COVID-19 pandemic stalled progress for years, Shimmin told Community Impact Newspaper at the project's groundbreaking in September 2025. Construction began in August 2025, and the Southlake Chamber of Commerce hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
"When we're done with everything, there's going to be four garage buildings," Shimmin said at the September 2025 groundbreaking, describing a full buildout that would also include a separate building for retail, commercial, medical, office, or restaurant space.
The first phase includes a private owners clubhouse. One office space on the property will be available for lease, according to Southlake Style magazine.
The project joins a growing car-condo market in Northeast Tarrant County, with at least two similar developments announced in nearby Colleyville in 2025, including Garages of America's first Tarrant County project at John McCain Road and Colleyville Boulevard.
The developer's website states limited single and double units remain available.
